I thought these were really cute until I tried to pair them with my skinny jeans. Because of the dramatic color contrast between the tan and really any of my pants, it was too abrupt a transition and I looked kinda like a clydesdale...plus that made my legs look really short and i'm only 5'2" so I can't really spare the optical inches. I think the black would be cute though with black pants since it will be a more gradual transition from boot to leg. Also - they are narrow. I had ordered a 7 and a 7.5 (i'm usually a 6.5/7) and the 7.5 was the right size for me, but still felt snug.
