Okay, sooo... I ordered, tried on and ultimately returned multiple pairs of coated black jeans in the effort to find the perfect pair. And these are 'The One'. I found them to fit true to size. I am 5'4", size twenty-six and would describe my build as slim, but somewhat muscular. They feel and look sturdy and expensive while the fabric holds you in in all the right ways. I personally experienced little to no puckering/unattractive wrinkling, which was a MAJOR issue with some of the other pairs I tried. Do they look like leather? Kind of, but not exactly. Are they hard to get into? Um, yeah. But once you get them on they are, in my opinion, pretty much the perfect pair of coated jeans.

These had such positive reviews that I feel the need to say they sure don't work for everybody. I was really excited about them because I'm short and they weren't going to require hemming. Unfortunately that was really the only good thing about the fit on me. I'm 5'4", 112 lbs, 34/25/34.5 and my body type is what I'd call 'athletic slim', meaning I'm fairly small, but I do have some booty and thigh muscles. I normally take a 26 in denim including j brand, hudson, etc. So I ordered a 26 in these... The waist was fine. The rest of the jeans technically fit, I guess... But there was sooo much wrinkling, including some really unattractive wrinkling/ fabric cupping under my bum. I tried them on several times because they were very good looking laying there on the bed. But on me? Um... No. I bet they'd work better on somebody more willowy. Oh well... :(
