Theory
Fioria Dress
Thick material..doesn't feel like jersey
I have been trying to find a white shift dress for the summer and this is my second strikeout after the Tibi Ponte Shift Dress. After comparing both the Tibi dress is better, which makes sense since it cost more. This dress didn't fit me well at all. It was too large in some places and too small in others. Also the fabric does not feel like jersey (Pencey Standard tshirt style) it feels more like a thick polyester with no movement and it's very stiff like the Tibi dress. Also, the sleeves have a built in cuff, which is not flattering in person. Being that I'm 5'3" it hit me a few inches above my wrist and just looked strange. Unfortunatelly this is going back.

Enza Costa
Cuffed Crew Neck Top
Soft and cozy
As one of the previous reviewers pointed out, this shirt does run slim (as it says in the description). I normally wear an XS in most designers but the small fit perfectly. The material is really soft and although the sleeves are long for my petite 5'3" frame, it looks fine with the thumb hole. If you look at the way the shirt fits (e.g., length, size) on the model it's the same way it fits me even though I'm significantly shorter. Overall great, versatile, comfortable piece.
It's great for layering although you can't count on it for warmth in very cold weather as it is lightweight.

ONE by Marna Ro
Shirred Waist Dress with Leather Bodice
Cool but overpriced w/thin material
Sizing: one of the reviewers said the dress runs big...I disagree I think the dress runs small. I'm typically a 0/2 or XS in dresses and I'm a 34B (barely a B) and I couldn't even zip up the dress. Also, I'm 5'3" and with 6" heels on the dress was still at least 4" too long so it will need to be tailored. Also, I'm petite and the top part was still rather short on me.
Material: the leather is thin which makes it feel cheap, which one of the other reviewers had stated. The polyester is also thin and at first glance I thought it would be see-through but it doesn't appear to be. Also, the hem is crooked although that appears to be the design.
All in all the dress isn't worth $483 IMHO; however, I had been looking for a dress exactly like this after seeing it on TV once so I'm going to try the S and see if I like it. I do like the style, especially the little ruffle at the waist so I'm willing to pay the price to ensure it doesn't sell out in my size.

Flamingo Maxi Dress
Great summer piece
This dress is a great find. I love maxi dresses in the summer but I'm only 5'3" so I have a hard time finding one I don't have to hem. I bough the small and the length and fit were both perfect. The elastic along the bust keeps the dress secure but isn't too tight and doesn't cause a squishing effect that you see in a lot of strapless maxi dresses. The print is nice and being that I'm a 34B the dress provides enough coverage in the front to not be considered inappropriate.

Tibi
Ponte Shift Dress
Versatile piece
I think this is a great staple for my wardrobe. The shape and simplicity of design enable you to play with the look (e.g, scarf, belt, sandals, heels, etc.). The fabric is a little thicker than I had hoped but it's still workable. The length is definitely above the knee although not quite as short as shown on the model as I'm only 5'3" tall.
I have two cons which are the reason why I am rating this dress as average. It is rather roomy up top, which I'm used to since I wear a 34B but when I lift my arms the whole dress moves up because of the slight stiffness of the fabric. The second con, which I really hate, is that the sleeves come in at the wrist using elastic; I couldn't tell that from the model. Still deciding if I'm going to keep it. I wanted a white shift dress but $385 is a lot of money to pay for something that is just average.

Candela
Stella Maxi Dress
Unique, long but tailorable...
Let me start by saying this dress is unique and amazing. When I had it on at the tailors I got compliments from the employees and customers. Fit: I'm 5'3", 122 lbs (muscular / curvy build), I typically wear an XS but I bought a S so the dress wouldn't be fitted. I wear a 34B and I'm shaped like Jennifer Lopez.
The dress was WAY too long even with 6" heels on it was 1-2" too long so I took it to a tailor I know is good to be altered. What I asked them to do was remove the lace at the top where it attaches to the dress and pull it up and reattach so none of the detail on the bottom of the dress would be affected. The dress shouldn't be altered at the shoulder because the darker coverage area would be too short and the neckline woudl be too high but it can be altered. Also, due to the way I'm shaped I had to have the top and sides brought in even though it fit well through the hips. Also, tailoring was $75. Still it's worth the price.

Parker
Tank Dress
High quality unique dress
This is the perfect dress for a special occassion (e.g., New Years), since the shape is reminescent of a flapper. The fit is fantastic for any body shape since the cut is meant to graze the body but not cling anywhere. The quality is as expected from Parker, the sequin appear to be theaded together so there is a much smaller chance of them falling off then there is when they are sewn on individually. The colors are the same in person as on the website. And the dress has good weight to it, it's not too heavy but it's definately not flimsy.
I am 5'3", 120 lbs, and I bought an XS, which was TTS. Even at my height the dress is a bit short, probably 5 to 6" above the knee, so that's something to keep in mind if you are signifcantly taller. I also tried on the S in Saks and the length was about the same.

Dauphines of New York
Flower Child Headband
Not for everyday...
For reference I am 36, 5'3", 120 lbs, and have what I assume is an average size head for my size. I can't wear women's hats (e.g., fedora) because they are too big. I can wear a youth/womens baseball hat as long as it is adjustable. Also I have dark brown hair.
Pros: The band has some elasticity as well as an adjustable strap so it should fit just about anyone. The elasticity is very subtle so the item is not too tight when you are wearing it and the rhinestones don't dig into your head. Although the headband doesn't appear to slip I would recommend using bobby pins to secure it in place just in case. When wearing as a headband, the rhinestones are long enough that the black band is not visible. Works well with dark hair.
Cons: The quality is not consistent wih the $125 price tag. The rhinestones are very flimsy and lightweight in your hand, which gives the impression that they are cheap. The headband is very dressy. It would really only look right at a wedding or prom

Pencey Standard
Tank Dress
Soft and Beutiful
I love this dress. I'm 5'3" and I usually wear a size 2 in a dress and a S in Pencey Standard; however, this dress ran a little tight so I had to size up to a M which fit perfectly. I'm shaped like Kim Kardashian and the S fit like a bodycon dress, particularly in the back. Someone without those "curves" will probably be able to wear their regular size. The dres falls to my knee.
The material is a soft cotton which feels like you are wearing PJs and it's made with two layers of fabric so it's not see-through. Also, the fabric underneath does not align with the fabric on top so you get very light floral designs that you can see through the top layer. If you zoom in you can see it online. I think that makes the dress more interesting...visually.
Because the dress is made with two thick layers of fabric if you get the right size it grazes the skin perfectly and should hide any problem areas.

BCBGMAXAZRIA
Olesya Draped Cutout Gown
Beautiful color...perfect fit
I'm 5'3", I wear a 34B and a size 2 or 4 depending upon how I want the garment to fit; I bought the S. I can wear it with 6" platforms and the length is perfect although it might be worth hemming so I can wear it with shorter heels. The dress fits me exactly like it does on the model with a perfect fit on top and slightly larger on the bottom. There is a little bit of a gap in the back at the top of the skirt (near my lower back). I thought about getting an XS but I'm not sure it would fit because the top fit exactly right. You can't see down the dress but it doesn't sit flat like it does on the model. The dress is also slightly see-through so flesh colored undergarments is required. Overall the dress is beautiful. The front is conservative, the back is sexy, and the color just pops. I am so pleased with this purchase.
