I'm normally a 36 A, and I ordered a size small, and the band was a bit snug, but not uncomfortable. I'm fine with being petite, and am constantly looking for unpadded bras, which this is (they're hard to find). My breasts sometimes spill out over the center lace panel, but again, not badly. It does run a bit small, but works for me. If I bought a medium, I'm guessing the cup would be too large. It's a sexy yet classy bra, and my boyfriend loves it. Buy it more for a pretty special-occasion bra than for a day-in day-out "workhorse" bra, and you'll be happy with this purchase.
