As terrific as the other MIH pair
I'd nearly given up on finding jeans that I like, that fit me, and somehow, magically, provide that 'I look as great as I did in high school' feeling. I did that is, until these came in the mail with another, similar pair (Marrakech). They're perfect. I am 5'3, and about 120 - 125 pounds so I bought the size 6. I don't have the slimmest thighs and these jeans skim gracefully over them making me look and feel great because the fit is close, snug, but not tight due to the good quality denim and expert cut. Since I am on the far side of 45, I don't want to appear to be vainly attempting to claw back my youth (er, mutton dressed as lamb, as my mom would say); I just want to look great as I am. And these did it. Because I am shorter than the model, they are about an inch higher in the rise, which I actually prefer at my stage in life. They look terrific with a white cotton James Perse shirt tucked in or hanging loose. My sole criticism is that they were about 8 inches too long.

What great jeans!
I'd nearly given up on finding jeans that I like, that fit me, and somehow, magically, provide that 'I still look as I did in high school' feeling. I did that is, until these came in the mail. They're perfect. Seriously perfect. I am 5'3, and about 120 - 125 pounds so I bought the size 6. I don't have the slimmest thighs and these jeans skim gracefully over them making me look and feel great because the fit is close, snug, but not tight due to the good quality denim and expert cut. And these did it. Because I am shorter than the model, they are about an inch higher in the rise, which I actually prefer at my stage in life. They look terrific with a white James Perse t shirt tucked in to allow the waistband to show. My sole criticism is that they were about 8 inches too long.

Cute and flattering
I impulse-bought these. After the age of 50 you learn to be wary of flowered trousers but these looked so cute and refreshing from my usual summer look (James Perse linen pants and white linen shirt) that I thought (hoped) they might be fun and flattering. They are wonderful. The fabric is nice and crisp and the colors true to the photograph. The fit is close but not tight, something I appreciate since Mr. Gravity moved into my life. They are much longer on me than on the model (I am 5'2' and just over 120 pounds). While I like the look, I doubt I'll roll them because when I tried it made my short, not-overly-slender legs look even shorter and chubbier. I plan on having them hemmed to just at my ankle - a good length for wedges or flat sandals. I bought both the blue and the ecru because although just the same cut in different colorways, they really give off different vibes for some reason. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Cool boots
These boots are incredibly attractive to look at - I received more compliments on these the first day I wore them (with skinny off-white cords and an oversized light brown cashmere cardigan) than any other shoes I have ever owned. The soles are very comfortable; they are reminiscent of my favorite junior high Swedish clogs, which is one reason I bought them. The pale sage color is very attractive and the leather ankle wraps truly make the chic look. The only downside I have found is the suede is thinnish (as compared to, say, Cole-Haan combat boots from several seasons back) and feels a bit stiff the first couple of wearings. It has softened with wear but it felt pretty uncomfortable rubbing against my leg for much of the first day until the softening process began in earnest. Overall, I am quite happy with these.

Perfect T
Can James Perse make anything I don't like? I doubt it. His fabrics and tailoring are impeccable and this top is no exception. It is a true, clean, white with sharp bright red and black accents. The fabric is light, and soft, and molds to your body. (I am a size 6 and purchased the 2). Because I am only 5'3, it's a little long but I tuck it into my jeans and pull the tail out a bit so it fits closely but not too tightly. The tailoring is perfect, as you would expect, with no loose threads or crooked hems. Even if it weren't for a good cause, the shirt would be a great buy.

Just as I Remember
I have spent most of the 80's, 90's, and 00's, longing for the jeans of the 70's - those denim relics from the days of my being a nubile, size 3 high school student. Alas, those days are over but these AG jeans come close to my ideal. They are soft, as faded as old friends, and have the slim leg/elegant flare/high(er) waist that I remember. (As a size 6 fifty year old, the hipsters just don't do it for me.) While I have a lot of jeans, most of them are Joe's so I wasn't quite sure how much these would stretch and ordering was difficult. I wear a 26 or 27 in Joe's so I got an AG 28, which is snug, but not uncomfortably so (they don't particularly stretch, at least not yet). The color is perfect, however, and the waist (my main concern) hits just at my belly button, probably because I am a petite 5'3 with pretty short legs. (They are very long, even with my highest heels, so, unless you are quite tall, prepare to have them tailored.) Overall, I'm pleased with my selection.

Best shirt ever
There's just something about white linen that whispers "summer." While I own this shirt in white cotton as well, the linen one is perfect as the base for so many wonderful summer outfits because it's made of high-quality fabric and fits close to the body - slim but not tight - as a Perse shirt does. The collar doesn't button, offering a hint of cleavage, and the tails pull the eye downward, making you appear slimmer. This cut is what makes it so universally flattering on many sized women and makes it so versatile, as well; it looks great with everything I've tried - dark jeans, linen pants, and those terrific J Brand Earhart pants. Lots of people prattle about what makes a garment a classic and I doubt we'd all agree. My definition is that the item must be unfussy in design and make you feel elegant from the moment you don it, like those effortlessly chic French women in 1960s movies. By that standard, this shirt is peerless.

Great pants
These flight pants are really flattering - nice fabric, true to size, and stylish. I am a size 4 - 6 and I am quite pleased with them. I was a little nervous about them since I have never bought J Brand before but I liked them so well I bought a second pair in another color. I'm looking forward to spring so I can wear them.
