Few Photos; For Fashion Book Collectors
A nice price and some very good advice. However, most of what is contained in the book is likely old news to those drawn to such books. As an additional point, the book contains only a few actual photos (with the author modeling in these or no model at all). Instead, the majority of images are drawn - almost cartoon-like. Perhaps this will make the images in the book remain relevant longer; however, I prefer more realistic images. For me, a copy of "InStyle" or "Glamour" containing an article on closets is as useful or maybe even more so than this book. I am glad to have it though as it is a nice book to add to my collection of such books and it looks cool on the bookshelf with the other fashion books.

4 Stars Since It Is Brass & Loses Shine
Gorgeous!!! It can be adjusted to fit very small wrists too. For example, I can fit it onto my granddaughter's 2 year old wrist (not that she would actually be wearing it at this point). The ducks are very detailed. The only flaw is that it is brass and hence won't be shiny as pictured for too long. My copy is very dull and brassy now. But I am told that a bit of lemon could shine it up easily.

For Fans of Grace Kelly & Old Hollywood
This book is a great gift for fans of old Hollywood and fans of actresses like Grace Kelly, because of course Edith Head was the insanely talented costume designer for many old films (e.g., "Rear Window"). It is also an interesting historical document that one might see used as an example in sociology classes. On both counts, this book is a win-win purchase for me. In relation to sociology (e.g., gender analysis), the book contains advice on "Getting and Keeping a Husband," including, "1. Decide want kind of man you want; 2. Find out what kind of girls he likes; 3. Know what kind of fashions pleases him; 4. Don't masquerade in clothes you hate just to attract a man. Be sure you are really, deep down in side, this kind of girl. If not, find another man!" My advice, inspired by the no holes-barred writing of Edith Head: If sociology or old Hollywood does not interest you, find another book! :0) :0) :0)

Considering Other Juliet&Co. Jewelry Now
I have been considering these particular pearl earrings for awhile; however, I was hesitant, thinking the earrings might be less appealing in person given their price tag of $20 U.S. The selling point for me was the previous review. I second it!!! "Wow, $20 for these gorgeous earrings? What a steal!" Also, since I am plus size (16 to 18 on top), and a little over 5'8", I was happy to know, thanks again to the previous reviewer, that these earrings would be "a bit larger than most pearl earrings." The size is perfect for me, and "as expected" (thanks to the previous reviewer). I have been eyeing other Juliet & Company pearl jewelry, such as the Triple Strand Pearl Necklace, and the sight of these earrings is pushing me to trust in Juliet & Company and BUY BUY BUY. I have not had these long so I am unsure regarding issues of "tear-&-wear," but this was love at first sight. At $20, I would suggest this is a great deal. I am not surprised that only 3 pairs are left in stock.

Yuck: Larger & Smaller Than Expected
In my opinion, I could find this exact skirt (or near identical) in any bohemian downtown store in a Canadian city. The stores that sell bohemian clothing, tapestries, incense, accessories, and housewares sell this kind of thing for much cheaper. And while I paid $49.53 for customs and another $207.03 for the skirt (more in Canadian dollars; that's US dollars), I could get a very similar or identical skirt for under $50 Canadian dollars here. I am very disappointed in Mes Demoiselles. "In person" the skirt does not resemble the image of the skirt posted here. For one, I am 5 foot 9 inches and it comes down to my feet. Larger than expected in this way. The elastic waist does not have much stretch at all. Smaller than expected in this way. Shopbop must have had the best steamer ever known to humans to pull off making this skirt look so good in the images. Yuck is my final word on this skirt. Yuck. Yuck. Sending it back on the same day it arrived.

Right Up My Ally:
I am using the "Universal Case" as a wallet. It is a tiny bit bigger than the usual Marc by Marc Jacobs wallets, fitting my many keys along with cards, IDs, etc. The smell of vinyl is to be expected; but I love it. The wristlet loop and the unique Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque are very cool.

Substract 1 Star Due 3 SureToBe Cracking
I bought the Hunter Clear Tote for my 30-year-old- daughter. She loves it. We accept, however, that it may crack, tear, and certainly scratch easier than we'd like. She doesn't plan to use it for a beach bag. She does not go to the beach. She will use it everyday; hence, it's life-span may be less than Hunter intended. My daughter is a huge fan of Hunter boots and products. She thus loves this clear tote. We love: Tinted PVC vinyl outer. We like: Vachetta leather handle straps and trim (we wish they were non-leather). We love: Moulded base with contrast red rubber feet to protect against scuffs and scratches. We like: Dog clip fastening (we wish it closed more fully). We like: Detachable Vachetta leather purse (we wish it had vegan touches). We love: Design details are inspired by the Original boot. We love: Size: H 33cm x W 39cm x D 18cm. Again, we love all the composition, but not the leather. We love: Base - 100% Rubber.

Calling Plus Size Gals 14 to 16 Bottom
I rate this as "smaller than expected" only because I have 3 other Chinti and Parker skirts and 2 of the 3 are size M. They both fit comfortably. I ordered size M this time - remembering that the L might be too puffy. I overlooked the fact that the "covered elastic waist" is only in the back on the Bow Print Mid skirt. This means that it has less flexibility than an elastic waist at the front and back. It fits a little tight but I think it will be ok and I will keep it. The material is gorgeous and one can tell it is not a "cheap" skirt. IMHO the pattern is much nicer in person. The pattern kind of reminds me of the beautiful patterns you see on traditional African clothes in some parts of that continent. For reference, I wear a size 14 to 16 (think GAP zip-up skirts) on bottom. I am 5'9". I have a flat bottom and narrow hips. I have a pot belly too. I am 18 to 20 on top; so this skirt balances me out.

Calling Plus Size Gals
Smaller than expected is my rating since I have other Chinti and Parker skirts, with elastic waists, that have more give. Size M is a little tight. But then again, I am a size 14 to 16 on bottom. The L would have fit more comfortably, but I would be fearful of the puff. As it is, the puff is still a concern on the M. I may send it back. I am plus size but have no bottom and hips; yet, this skirt makes me look as big on bottom as I am on top (20 to 22 on top), which is arguably good given that I like to look portioned. This is my 4th Chinti and Parker skirt and I find them to be stand-outs. The pattern on this one is much nicer in person than in the image. The material is of the highest quality. I am glad I got it on sale though. The cost to me: $127.67 in Canadian dollars, including $30.54 import fees. This is more when converted to US dollars.

By Five Eight In Height, Plus On Top
Picture this. I run a size 20(top)/10-14(bottom) to a 16(top)/10-8(bottom), depending on brand. Picture this. Size 3 in Raquel Allegra's Maxi Skirt on me. Quite something to look at. It makes me look so thin on bottom. I look like I have one leg. That's how thin I look on the bottom in this Maxi Skirt. Alas, I am not proportioned. I look like an upside-down pear. This Maxi Skirt is for proportioned people (what isn't eh, lol). I think it is gorgeous though. Nice thin breathable material. I am 5'8" and it is a perfect length for me - a tiny bit longer than pictured on me than on the model. I take away one star due to the placement of the pockets. The pockets are too close together IMHO. Think about how pockets on hoodies are placed and you get the picture. A final note: I am returning my size 3. Maybe one of you proportioned ladies can enjoy it. :)
