Take Flight... Temporarily!
Feathers have popped-up in what seems like nearly every head of female hair in my hometown. Definitely a cute look, but I'm not so committed to it that I was willing to get feathers sewn into my hair like many of the women in my neighborhood. This leather (strip) with a feather looks just as good as theirs, but the best part is that I can put it in and take it out at will.

So Pretty On!
I loved how "summer" this dress looked. When on, you literally feel like a living sunrise to sunset; the bodice looks like a blue sky full of white clouds and the skirt is a beach sunset. I wore this to a "barefoot wedding" (be warned... this new trend where guests are asked to skip wearing shoes has swept through Orange County, CA -- I've been to two -- and I've just received an invitation to another one in Texas...) and it hugged the body just where it should. It falls beautifully and the silk didn't get one wrinkle in it. The only drawback was that the elastic band at the top arrived twisted and only grew more tangled. I got so tired of trying to unroll it that I was ready to let it roll itself down to my waist. I think a tailor could remedy this issue with a few stitches. If you're looking for an etherial summer dress, this is it.

Trendy, but Fun
I tend to avoid trendy items, but I love Haute Hippie and thought this sweatshirt would be a hip pairing for jean shorts and Ugg boots. I wore it to a beach bonfire and it was warm, but lightweight. I'm already thinking that come Fall, it will go with skinny jeans, tall boots, and a super chic plaid shirt left unbuttoned. With plenty of ways to work this sweatshirt and it's reasonable pricepoint, it was a worthwhile purchase.

So stylish, but size DOWN!
I just got received these and wore them immediately. I have a few pairs of J Brand jeans and between their style and superb fit, they've become one of my favorite denim brands. I wish I had heeded some of the other reviewers' warnings about sizing down because these stretched within about an hour of wearing. I ordered a size 28, but should have gotten a 27. One size down should do the trick. Despite sizing, I adore them! They are lightweight with a touch of stretch, and will be a perfect transition item from mid-summer to early Autumn. I'm 5'10 and was able to pull these off with 4" wedges; all but about 1" of the shoe was covered. These jeans gave me legs for miles. Can't wait to pair them with other tops and shoes.

100% Pretty
I love minis so this is the first below-the-knee length skirt I've purchased since, well, my wedding gown, I think. This skirt falls perfectly and when paired with the turquoise top I purchased (which was part of a look in one of Shopbop's recent lookbooks), I feel like a modern Doris Day. This skirt feels "charity luncheon," but it can definitely be shuzed down with a couple of layered tanks and a pair of espadrille wedges or some flat sandals. I thought this skirt was kind of spendy, but now that I see it can be dressed up or down, it was worth it. Get it before it's gone!

Gorgeous
I bought this top as part of a look that was featured in a recent Shopbop lookbook (it was paired with the azure below-the-knee skirt that I also purchased). I love this top; it fits perfectly and looks beautiful with the skirt. I also plan on wearing it with a pair of summer bright popsicle-colored shorts (probably a melon color). It will go with a ton of stuff. So classy!

In a Word: NO!
These were the most unflattering shorts I've ever tried on. I rarely return my Shopbop purchases, but I couldn't get these in the mail quickly enough. The fold (or panel) that you see on the front of the short looks flat in the photo, but does NOT lay flat when on the human body. If you mistakeningly buy them and don't want to return, give them to your brother or boyfriend. They fit, gap, and look like they're made for the male anatomy.

A Good Start that MUST be Shaped
This Tibi jumpsuit is the exact reason why it's key to pay attention to the model's stance in a photo. She's got a hip jutted severely and as a result, this jumpsuit looks like it has more shape than it does. Still, it's a great piece to add to a Spring wardrobe. It's the palest pink and so floaty you feel like you should open your eyes wide, find a grassy hilltop, and start spinning just like Maria in "The Sound of Music." Before you start spinning and singing, find a wide belt to cinch in the waist. I chose a deep chocolate brown one with barely visible golden thread wove through and topped it off with nude peep-toe pumps. If you don't give it shape, you could look like a cleaning woman circa 1960. Styled right, it's worth the price. Go down one size unless you're super tall.

So Good, I Had to Have Two!
I bought the 3/4 sleeve version of this dress at the James Perse store in November. I'm usually a "4" in their dresses, which must be made using a pre-pubescent male fit model, but I was a "3" and a "2" would have worked, too, in this style. I was excited to see the tank version of this dress. The nude color and seamless fit works well as a stand-alone piece or as the base for a layered look. These dresses travel well and you couldn't detonate a wrinkle into the fabric. Love it!
