Exceptionally Lovely & Figure-Flattering
Another amazing dress by Torn: Incredibly figure-flattering with a fitted bodice and a flouncy skirt. The dress (I almost always go with a large for length) is short -- very -- on my 5'10 frame; I hope this helps you have an idea of where it will fall on you. The fit is fabulous, but I could have sized down to a medium if I wanted it to be second skin (a look I'm not incredibly fond of for me). The dress is substantial given the texture of the fabric, but it feels lightweight when on. Torn dresses always look so luxe and they invite compliments from men and women alike. Flats and a denim jacket will make this a perfect weekend outfit; heels with a summer leather jacket will kick it up for cocktails and dinner; and wedges will make it the perfect "any occasion" look. Yes! I love this dress. It will be one of my favorite Spring to Summer (and even into Fall) dresses. And a huge bonus is that it will travel and unfold beautifully right out of the suitcase. You want this dress!

Oh... The Horror! What Was I thinking?!
I cannot believe that I even ordered this. And once I received it and physically tried it on, I had no idea what it actually was. The description is "top," but it neither fits nor looks like a top. Dress? Nope. Especially considering it doesn't cover your lower half. My best assessment is that it's an overlay. For what, though, I'm unsure. There's a very delicate thread that closes the bottom hem of the top, just below the navel. The quality is disappointing. The long sides that come to points are uneven. Overall, it's just poorly executed. And that disappointment is magnified by the fact that this garment is nearly $400.00. As for the color... I have no clue how the video and the still photographs made the color appear to be more sherbet orange than its true color: Blinding neon orange. This garment now rivals a DVF dress I tried months ago as the worst piece of clothing I've ever tried on. It sure looked stylish on the model so clearly there are women who can carry this look.

So Pretty... So Ethereal... So Summery!
This "sunset" yellow (seems like a tangerine-ish orange hue mixed-in to make this shade of yellow) dress is floaty and pretty and oh-so-subtly-sexy thanks to the double layers of silk and the shoulder cutouts. HH does quality beading better than most designers so unlike Parker and some other lines that commonly feature beading, the beading on this garment is both even and securely attached. I don't like super-fitted material around the neck so I am pleasantly surprised by how wide the neck opening actually is. The two hoops through which the buttons on the back of the neck are secured are too small as it took me twenty minutes to gently work two buttons through the hoops; a visit to the tailor might be in order. But the huge drawback (warranting 4/5 stars) is just how wrinkly the material is. Shopbop clearly shipped it without having steamed it - it arrived in terrible condition - but I steamed it and the wrinkles easily fell out. But as you wear it, expect wrinkling. But so worth it!

Just Okay
I purchased these DVF shorts with an upcoming vacation in mind. I thought that being silk, they'd be appropriately casual, but still more stylish than typical cotton. The fit is generally fine, but they're more high-waisted than I expected which means that they're also shorter than I expected. And considering how high they naturally sit, there is major potential for thigh rub. Ugh! And the colors clash -- big time -- in-person. The colors looked softer in the photo. I think these could be very cute if paired with the right top, but I don't have the desire to look for it. I also think they'll be much more flattering on a petite woman.

Completely Amazing!
These jeans are spectacular. The perfect amount of stretch and snug all at once! And I love the shredding/deconstruction. I ordered up one size, but these are definitely true to size. And if you're in the market for a super tight fit, you're probably safe sizing down. Thankfully, the jeans have enough stretch/snug factor in them that going up a size doesn't affect the look; I just hope they don't stretch out as they're already loose around my waist. Be sure to point your foot as you slide through the legs. My toe immediately went through one of the shredded patches even just trying them on. And the shredded patches are on the delicate size so if you're not careful, you'll end up with big holes. Sure to be my new fave denim!

Beautiful Shorts, But Too Short & Snug
I've worn Haute Hippie for years and among the reasons I've stayed loyal to the brand is the quality fabrics. These are silk; featherlight and so soft against the skin. However, I'm returning because they not only are incredibly short -- to the point of indecency -- but also far too snug. They're supposed to have a slight bubbling out around the leg, but these felt more like bloodpressure cuffs, unpleasantly squeezing into my thighs. I was so disappointed because I love the pattern of the material; they make for a great summer staple. I ordered an 8 -- my usual size in HH is a 6 -- thinking that they would hang loosely around the waist and thus giving me the opportunity to tuck in a blouse and also gain me a couple of inches in length. I had to struggle to get the waist fastened. I'm seriously considering ordering the 10, but I'm unsure as to whether even those would fit. The sizing just seems incredibly off (a problem I've never had with any HH garment). Even so, they're gorgeous.

So Simple and Summery
This is YFB's classic maxi style. I've collected a few of these dresses over the last several summers and the pinks in this fabric made this the one I chose to add into my wardrobe for this Spring/Summer season. I have seen, repeatedly, reviewers state that their backsides are visible through too transparent material. I've never had this problem so I'm wondering if it's dependent upon height and which part of the dress hits one's backside? It hasn't been an issue for any of the YFB dresses I've purchased. The fabric is so soft, quality, and hugs the body in all of the right places. Two issues with this dress: First, as usual, it was several inches too long. I ordered a medium and at 5'10, I'd have to wear at least four inch wedges to ensure the hem doesn't drag. Plus, I like to wear flats with most any maxi dress so it's a given that a visit to the tailor is required. Second, every other medium in this style has been a perfect fit. This one was baggy; consider sizing down. Fabulous!

Absolutely Not
I was so excited to get this dress; what an interesting and unique twist on the LBD. I still think the style is gorgeous, but the fit is one of the worst I've tried. I ordered, according to the size chart, the equivalent to a US 8. However, I think it would have taken more like a 4 to even get close to a proper fit. The entire dress failed to fit, but the most noticeable area was around the bust. I figured I would wear a strapless bra or even have cups sewn in, given it's lined, but when I slipped it on and got it zipped, the top fell completely below my chest, exposing everything (I'm a C cup so that gives you an idea of just how big the bust area was). I'm not sure what body type this dress will fit, but it's such a fun, sexy style that I hope it works for some. The fabric is quality and the full-length zipper is a cool detail.

Stunning!!!
Each Spring, Kimberly Ovitz seems to include a dress in the line that becomes my favorite "go to" dress of the season and this year, this is THAT dress. The interesting strap details, the chic black and white pattern, the incredibly flattering fit, the alluring slit up the leg, the luxurious feel, and the simultaneous body-hugging, yet giveable fabric, and other details make this such a beautiful, wearable piece to add to your wardrobe. I tend to like maxi dresses paired with flats so I'll have to have the hem taken up by about two to three inches (to keep it floor skimming) if I DO wear flats. Otherwise, I'll pair with wedges and the length will be fine as is. This dress will be gorgeous for many warm weather seasons to come which also makes it worth the price.

Like Wearing A Tropical Island
As far as denim goes, it doesn't get better than J Brand so the minute I came across this fun, summery pattern, I nabbed them. I've only just tried them on -- they're their usual true to size fit -- and once on, the pattern, which I already loved, was surprisingly less "busy" looking (which is, ultimately, a very good thing because the second time you wear anything "busy," people tend to start thinking "OMG! She's wearing those constantly!"). I paired these with a loose knit turquoise tank, then a blousy white tee, and finally, a spring green lightweight sweater, and each gave the jeans a different, but adorable look. And despite the numerous shades of blue in the pattern, these skinnies look terrific with any number of bright colors. These are definitely a dress-up or down style so if you add a sparkly tank and heels, you've got a Friday date night look and if you pair them with a casual tee and flat espadrilles or sandals, you're weekend casual.
